Transforming energies

Gemeente Eindhoven Eindhoven

Connecting contrasts

Energizing a new central urban district

The city of Eindhoven is undergoing a massive transformation in the years to come. Multiple large-scale urban developments are currently taking place. Strijp-S, Strijp-T, VDMA, Town Hall, Kanaalzone, just to name a few. But the largest and most impactful will probably be Knoop XL; a new international district in the heart of the city. Built around the central station that will transform into an international hub for public transport.

Edhv has been involved setting out the foundations for an identity, strategy and positioning for this to be the central part of Eindhoven.

During Dutch Design Week Gemeente Eindhoven presented a large scale model of the Knoop XL area by KCAP and model maker Dauwe den Hartog. To explain the underlying dynamics and the storylines we developed a video mapping based on the transforming energies of the city.
