Universal language

Boosting the social fabric for a growing city

Eindhoven, known for its innovative spirit and technological advancements, is rapidly transforming. The exhibition ‘Circles of Universal Language’, presented by the municipality of Eindhoven and Dutch Invertuals, explores how universal language can foster interhuman connection in a growing city.

Dutch Invertuals / Edhv were invited to pitch ideas for an exhibition about ‘how to foster interhuman connections in a rapidly growing city’.

We explored the concept of universal language and how it can stimulate meaningful encounters. Ten designers participated in collaborative design research, each using a chosen universal language to inspire installation concepts aimed at bringing people together.

Through engaging dialogues, sketching, and sharing feedback, the visions and ideas evolved into tangible prototypes.

Our very own project ‘The Whistling Tree’ transforms the sound of a whistle into a soundscape. As more people gather, the ‘whistling concert’ grows, creating a dynamic soundscape that reflects the pulse of Eindhoven.

'The Whistling Tree' brings people together, even if they are not in the same place at the same time.

We developed a communication strategy, creating visual elements to promote the event.

The exhibition provided an interactive experience that encouraged exploration and immediate feedback from its visitors.
