This week, we welcomed these young students and their mentor Doug Kisor from Michigan College for Creative Studies in Detroit, to the studio. The group is currently on a three-week studio tour and workshop trip in The Netherlands. As dedicated educator, Doug has been coordinating the annual international summer graphic design study program based in Den Haag since the ‘90s. They chose to stop by at Edhv during their one-day excursion to Eindhoven.
Exchanging visions on design with people from across the globe continues to inspire us, because it provides us with interesting new insights. We think it is very exciting to stay up to date about the developments in design education and are happy to share some thoughts.
Great to meet these guys. Thank you for visiting us!

Design to get a point across
Eindhoven University of Technology invited Edhv to pass on our some of their knowledge about communication design to their industrial design students. Over the past three months, we gave lectures to a group of 45 young designers. Their assignment for the course? To show their acquired graphic design insight and skills by creating a bid book.
Nice to see the diversity in character, visualizations, ideas and information structuring. Their hard work payed off.

It’s always nice to have young, ambitious people from all over the world decide to move to Eindhoven and do their internship here at Edhv. This month, we welcomed Angel, a young interior designer from Manila, the Philippines. She gave an inspiring presentation on the culture and history of the island country. Really refreshing to hear her story and learn more about demographics.

Last weekend we built up our installation in the exhibition hall. The show is well worth the visit, so go check it out!

Who’s gonna take the weight
This month, Dutch Invertuals presented ‘Harvest’ at Salone del Mobile Milan. In a response to socio-economic actualities, they launched a campaign that symbolically refers to the exhibition theme. The images visualize the concept of taking one’s goods from land to market but also cleverly refer to the burden of our consumeristic mentality.

Yay! We are back from Milan and looking back at a successful week with a great atmosphere. Together with Dutch Invertuals: Bram Vanderbeke, Carlo Lorenzetti, Hongjie Yang, Kirstie van Noort & Xandra van der Eijk, Léa Baert, Mila Chorbadzhieva, Philipp Weber, Sigve Knutson and Thomas Ballouhey we presented a vision on our future energy landscape at Salone del Mobile Milano.
The expo was well-received. Our work Thermodynamics evoked inspiring reactions. Everyone’s hard work paid off. Great to see many familiar and new faces. Thank you for visiting or at least checking up with us!

It is always great to head out with the team and immerse ourselves into new places and newly presented designs. Salone del Mobile Milan remains an inspiring place to do so. Here are some impressions of our exploration tour.

Thermodynamic processes continue to fascinate us. For this year’s Dutch Invertuals’ exhibition at Salone del Mobile Milan, we elaborate on Frost Light by introducing a counterpart. The interplay between heat and cold will shed a new light on the project.
